TASO Stone Cold II Barrel

This is Tiny Tim's review of TASO's Stone Cold II Barrel.

First Impressions- I was stupid enough to order a 17" barrel. I was a newbie, so all length factors are my fault. The thing was huge, but was 3 pieces. There was the silver part that screwed into the gun, the black part that screwed into the silver part, and a silver cone on the tip. It had a lot of porting that wasn't visible at all from a distance. After close examination, I saw it had a lot of spiral porting and v-shaped formations. It seemed of high quality, and the threads were not cheap and didn't seem easy to strip. It has a very sleek look to it, adding a lot of elegance to any marker.

Sound- After attaching this beast to my Piranha sound was reduced to a slight cough. I could easily rip and the porting really helped to silence it. This is a great barrel for those who want a quiet shot. I imagine one of these on a Matrix would shoot like a whisper every time.

Accuracy- The thing is deadly accurate. I matched up .689 Team Colors to it, and it was a perfect fit to the .689 bore. I was launching out darts with this thing. My friend put it on his Spyder and noticed how accurate it was also.

Overall Value- High quality 3-piece barrel. Maybe not the best for lower-pressure guns, due to the amount of porting. It doesn't have a step-bore surprisingly, but the thing is very accurate and dead silent. It works well in the wind, and is a great buy for anyone looking for a nice barrel. I would recommend NO bigger than 14". Length doesn't give better accuracy. Never get anything longer than 14", or you'll be sorry like me. This \$70 barrel can easily compete with the other barrels in its price range.
